How to arrive to San Sebastian - By Plane There are 5 airports near Donostia-San Sebastian: Donostia-San Sebastian Airport (EAS), 18 km. Bus (Interbús) (3€ ) / Taxi (35€) Bilbao Airport (BIO) , 110 km. Bus (from Bilbao 10€) / Taxi (75€) Bus service to San Sebastian departs every hour from the Termibús bus station in the center of Bilbao (to get there take a taxi from the airport). Bus companies: Alsa and Pesa (trip takes about 1 hour). Biarritz Airport (BIQ) (France), 45 kms : Bus (from Biarritz 10€) / Taxi (80€) / Train (from Hendaye 7 €) Take a taxi or bus#6 to Biarritz railway station and then take a train to Hendaye (concerning the transport from Hendaye to San Sebastián, please see section "By Train"). Vitoria-Gasteiz Airport (VIT), 110 kms : Bus (10€ ) / Taxi (90€) Only taxi service from the airport to Vitoria city center. From Vitoria to San Sebastián: bus service (Burundesa, Pesa, Continental-Auto. Bus station address: c/ Los Herrán, 50) and a railway service ( Renfe, address: Plaza de la Estación), with trains departing every 3 - 4 hours. Trip takes 1h. 45 min. approx. Pamplona Airport (PNA), 80 kms : Bus (8€ ) / Taxi (75€). Take bus #16 to Pamplona center. Buses (La Roncalesa) to San Sebastian depart from the bus station.

- By Train

A TGV train (high speed train) covers the 800 Km between Paris and Hendaye (22 km from San Sebastian) in approximately 5 hours. The price is cheaper if the ticket is reserved one month in advance.
To get from Hendaye (France) to San Sebastián take the "EuskoTren" train, just next to Hendaye railway station. There are trains to Donostia / San Sebastián every 1/2 hour. This trip takes around 45 min.

- By Car

Donostia-San Sebastian is easily accesible by roadway. It is well-connected to other municipalities within the province and with the national highway system. Distances to some cities are: Madrid (470 km), Barcelona (530 km), Bilbao (110 km), Biarritz (45 km).
Four main highways connect San Sebastián with the province of Guipuzkoa and the rest of Spain:

A-8 from Bizkaia

A-63 from France

N-1 and A-5 from Madrid, Vitoria, Burgos and Gipuzkoa

A-15 from Pamplona

- By Ferry:

The port of Bilbao is the largest ferry port in Spain and it is the destination of the P&O Ferries and AT Ferries crossings from one of the main ferry ports in the UK: Portsmouth.
